Ultimate Learner Empowerment

Give your adult learners the tools to lead, advocate, and inspire.
The COABE Ambassador Training helps students build confidence, strengthen their communication skills, and become powerful voices for adult education—on campus, in their communities, and beyond. When students grow as leaders, programs grow stronger.

Core Pillars

To maintain the integrity of the COABE Ambassador Training, each training must include
the following six core pillars. While delivery and activities may be adapted, these themes
must be present to ensure alignment with COABE’s mission and vision.
COABE
Adult Education
Advocacy
Storytelling
Engagement
Leadership
PILLAR 1

COABE

Explore who we are and why we exist. Introduce COABE’s mission, membership benefits, and commitment to adult learners and alumni.
PILLAR 2

Adult Education

Understand the landscape and the need. Break down common misconceptions and highlight the current state of adult education in the U.S.
PILLAR 3

Advocacy

See how change happens. Define advocacy and show its power to influence laws, funding, and everyday lives—including small, daily acts of advocacy.
PILLAR 4

Storytelling

Craft and share your truth. Guide participants in developing personal stories, adapting them to different audiences, and building confidence in sharing.
PILLAR 5

Engagement

Step into the room where it happens. Demystify legislative meetings, prepare participants to engage with decision-makers, and emphasize the importance of their voice.
PILLAR 6

Leadership

Keep growing and giving back. Encourage future involvement through goal-setting, leadership roles, and sustained advocacy within the COABE community.

Become an Ambassador Training Facilitator

Facilitating the training yourself means you can shape the experience to reflect your learners' goals, strengths, and voices—while deepening their connection to your program.

How do I get started?

Facilitation is easy to jump into—COABE provides ready-to-use training materials that you can adapt to fit your program’s needs, as long as they align with the 6 Core Pillars of the Ambassador Training. You’ll also receive personalized support every step of the way. To get started or learn more, email ambassadorcoordinator@coabe.org.
